Welcome to Illuminated Matrescence

Today is an incredibly important day as it signifies the launch of my course! The level of excitement I am experiencing is truly overwhelming as I witness all the hard work and dedication culminate in this moment. The process of developing this course commenced in early January, sparked by a suggestion from a dear friend. During that period, I was navigating a difficult phase in my life, feeling a sense of helplessness, and creating this course emerged as the perfect way to channel my energy.

I began envisioning the creative aspects of the course, exploring many designs before settling on the current one. I crafted visuals, business cards, postcards, and promotional videos.

Engaging in the process, I started by compiling a list of more than 50 topics that were frequently discussed with my clients in my private practice. These topics held professional relevance and resonated deeply with me on a personal level, reflecting my journey through motherhood. The process of selection and refinement was meticulous, leading to the finalization of 28 essential topics that I believed captured the essence of what all mothers should be aware of.

Following the detailed process of writing approximately 2,000 words per topic, each rich with information, personal stories, and practical tools, I transitioned to the next phase of the project. Recognizing the significance of pacing, I made the strategic choice to divide the content into weekly segments, spanning a total of 8 weeks. This approach aimed to allow ample time for understanding and retention of the material, ensuring learners wouldn't be overwhelmed by an influx of information.

Shifting from writing to filming marked a significant change in my creative journey. Despite lacking prior filming experience, I delved into the process, experimenting with different recording devices like webcams and older cameras with video capabilities. After several trials, I found the ideal match in the Canon Mark 3, which initially met my filming needs.

However, my filming journey encountered a setback when the Canon Mark 3 malfunctioned during the recording of the second video. This prompted a thorough search for a replacement camera that would meet my performance and reliability standards. Upon acquiring a new camera, I was pleased with the improved visual output it provided. Yet, this joy was short-lived as the new camera tended to overheat after 20 minutes of continuous filming, requiring a 45-minute cooldown period before reuse.

Despite the inconvenience caused by the overheating issue, the video quality produced by the camera inspired me to persist with it.

The filming process was a mix of enjoyment, challenge, and frustration. I divided the video into shots, filming each shot multiple times. Various interruptions occurred during shots, such as my children making noise in the background, external sounds, hair out of place, stumbling over words, or technical issues with the teleprompter. These imperfections may be noticeable when watching the videos.

Completing the filming phase felt like a significant accomplishment. The subsequent editing phase involved sifting through hours of footage to select the right shots, organize them, and ensure a smooth flow.

Other aspects of developing this course included creating the website, selecting the appropriate hosting platform, and designing all marketing materials, including hand-writing 500 cards distributed to OBGYNs across the USA.

There is much more I am eager to share about this journey, but for now, I will conclude by expressing my gratitude! Thank you for your support, for reading this, and for entrusting me with your postpartum journey.

The process of creating this course has been a beautiful challenge. There were moments when I felt compelled to give up, questioning why I voluntarily undertook this endeavor. It resembled the experience of motherhood in many ways.

Thank you! And welcome to Illuminated Matrescence.
